Now this may sound funny but when you read the recipe backwards it's impossible to forget ingredients and their measurements 
And we all know how stressing it can be when a cake or cookie comes out awful because of one ingredient

2. Eggs should be room temperature
When you follow the right temperature given to every ingredient trust me your cake won't be tasting the same it will be better 

3. Dry cake problems
If your cake is coming out dry it means your adding alot of baking powder contrary to the recipe which will eventually make it hard try to put the right measurements of the powder
